From the Ottawa River to Lake Leamy and Lake des Fees, Gatineau offers a serene destination for fishing, kayaking and sightseeing from private boat docks, resorts or marinas. This Quebec city, located north of Ottawa, features natural beauty, outdoor attractions and cultural heritage.

Canadian Museum of History

One of the most famous landmarks in Gatineau, the Canadian Museum of History offers insight into Canada's rich history and diverse cultures. It’s home to artifacts, exhibitions and galleries that tell stories of the Indigenous peoples, the country's colonization and its development over the centuries. The museum's architecture, designed by renowned architect Douglas Cardinal, is also a must-see.

Gatineau Park is a natural gem offering year-round outdoor activities. In the warmer months, visitors can hike, bike, picnic and swim at scenic locations such as Pink Lake or Meech Lake. In winter, it becomes a haven for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and snow hiking. The Champlain Lookout offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Ottawa Valley.


Leamy Lake Park is perfect for a day of outdoor leisure. With sandy beaches, picnic areas and a marina, it's ideal for swimming, sunbathing and boating in the summer. There are also hiking trails and plenty of green space to enjoy.

Situated along the Ottawa River, Jacques Cartier Park is known for its beautiful gardens and scenic views. It’s also the site of the famous Winterlude festival, held every February. During the festival, the park becomes a winter wonderland featuring ice sculptures, snow slides and skating areas.


Parc des Cedres is a popular spot for families in Aylmer (part of Gatineau). It offers water sports, bike paths and a beach area. The park is also home to festivals and events throughout the year, making it a fun spot to check out from resorts or private boat slips for rent in the area.
