City Guides: Things to do While Boating in Jensen Beach, Florida

Located along the Florida ICW, the St. Lucie River, the Indian River and the Atlantic Ocean, Jensen Beach is the perfect destination for boaters and water lovers. The St. Lucie Inlet allows access to the Atlantic for diving, deep-sea fishing or traveling from Florida to the Bahamas by boat while the area’s location between Vero Beach and Palm Beach makes it a great spot for swimming, snorkeling and lounging. Head to beaches like Waveland Beach, Jensen Sea Turtle Beach or Walton Rocks Beach (which allows dogs) for beach time or go kayaking, jet skiing and windsurfing in the Indian River.

Interesting fact: Jensen Beach was once the largest pineapple producer in the world. It was given the title of Pineapple Capital of the World in 1895. The farms eventually collapsed due to fires, bad weather and other agricultural problems. A Pineapple Festival is still held annually in Jensen Beach. You’ve just gotta love a place that was once a pineapple capital.
