City Guides: Things to do While Boating in Kauai, Hawaii

Known as the Garden Island, Kauai is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes, tropical rainforests, waterfalls and vibrant culture. Along with other Hawaiian islands like Oahu, Molokai and Lanai, it’s an amazing adventure from private boat docks for rent. Kauai boasts an array of tropical gardens, parks and animal experiences to visit from private boat lift rentals. Allerton Garden (a setting for Jurassic Park scenes), McBryde Garden, Lydgate Garden and Limahuli Garden all feature exotic plants, native species and interesting botanical features such as lava rock terraces and sculptures. They’re all excellent sites to visit from private boat slips for rent.

No trip to Kauai would be complete without exploring its beautiful beaches. Sink your toes into the powdery sand of Ke'e Beach where you can enjoy a leisurely picnic while basking in the sun. Dive into the turquoise waters and discover a vibrant underwater world filled with colorful coral reefs and tropical fish. You can also try your hand at paddleboarding along the calm shoreline.

Waimea Canyon State Park

Known as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, Waimea Canyon State Park has a scenic drive, picnic areas and amazing overlooks of the canyon and Ni’ihau Island. Visitors can go trout fishing, hiking and seasonal pig hunting.  

Kilauea Lighthouse

Kilauea Lighthouse (known as the Daniel K. Inouye Kilauea Point Lighthouse), located on a stunning cliff overlooking the ocean, is within Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge. Look out for wildlife like the red-footed booby, the Laysan albatross, green sea turtles and Hawaiian monk seals. The lighthouse is on the National Register for Historic Places. It's not open for climbing, but it does make a stunning photo op.
