USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park

The USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park is home to the USS Alabama, a World War II-era battleship built in 1942 in Norfolk, Virginia. It’s a must-visit for fans of military and coastal history. Take self-guided tours of the battleship (where you can explore the decks and various rooms on the ship) and check out tanks, artillery, military aircraft, park memorials and the USS Drum submarine. You’ll find exhibits from the Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard and Air Force as well as a Service Dog War Memorial honoring the dogs who have served the country.

Mobile Carnival Museum

One of the most unique places to visit from a private boat lift for rent, the Mobile Carnival Museum offers a look into the history of Mardi Gras and its fabulous parades. View ornate costumes (gowns, robes and jewelry), bejeweled scepters, extravagant floats, historic photos dating to 1886 and other memorabilia from Mardi Gras history. You can even climb aboard a float. The museum is located in the historic Bernstein-Bush mansion near the Mobile Cruise Terminal on the Mobile River.

Founded in 1963, the Mobile Museum of Art features a large collection of more than 6,400 pieces of American, European, Asian and African art. Spend a relaxing afternoon viewing photography, paintings, sculptures, contemporary glass and decorative arts. The outdoor sculpture trail is a fun area to explore from a private boat dock for rent. The museum is located in Langan Park in downtown Mobile.
