You can take a stroll along the boardwalk, hike through the park's many trails or even take a boat tour to get up close and personal with the falls. A popular attraction in Niagara Falls State Park is the Cave of the Winds. This experience takes you down into the Niagara Gorge where you can feel the power of the falls up close. You'll be given special rain gear and shoes before descending a series of wooden staircases to the base of Bridal Veil Falls. From there, you'll walk along a series of platforms that take you right up to the falling water. 

Maid of the Mist

If you're looking for an even closer encounter with the falls, the Maid of the Mist boat tour is a must-do experience. This world-famous tour has been taking visitors up to the base of the falls for more than 150 years. You'll board a double-decker boat that takes you right into the mist and roar of the falls (and maybe a “small” amount of water). 

Niagara Gorge Trail

If you're up for a hike, the Niagara Gorge Trail is a great way to explore the area's natural beauty. This trail follows the Niagara River through the gorge and offers stunning views of the river and the falls. The trail is relatively easy and suitable for hikers of all skill levels.
