Blennerhassett Island Historical State Park, set in the middle of the Ohio River, is named after Harman and Margaret Blennerhassett, who built a grand mansion there in the early 1800s. Take a sternwheeler boat ride to explore the reconstructed Blennerhassett Mansion and learn about early American history.

The Blennerhassett family became involved in a political scandal involving Aaron Burr, which led to the downfall of their estate. Today, the island features a reconstructed mansion based on the original design. It features period furnishings and educational programs about the Blennerhassett family’s legacy. Enjoy guided tours, historical reenactments, scenic walking trails, a visitor center, picnic areas and opportunities for kayaking and birdwatching. 

Oil & Gas Museum

Fort Boreman Park
