Whether you're seeking outdoor adventures, cultural experiences or a relaxing getaway, pencil in Pentwater on your to-visit list. Head to downtown Pentwater’s shops, art galleries and restaurants or go boating and fishing on Pentwater Lake and Lake Michigan. Start by checking out a few of these spots to visit from a boat lift rental or marina.

Charles Mears State Park

One of Pentwater's premier attractions, Charles Mears State Park, spans 50 acres along the shores of Lake Michigan. Visitors can enjoy a pristine sandy beach that’s perfect for swimming and sunbathing, or take a one-mile hike along a trail that ascends the Old Baldy sand dune. The park also features a campground and picnic areas, making it an ideal spot for family outings and visits from private boat docks for rent. 

Little Sable Point Lighthouse

Located just south of Pentwater in Silver Lake State Park, the historic Little Sable Point Lighthouse stands as a testament to the area's maritime heritage. Built in 1874, this 107-foot-tall lighthouse is open for tours during the summer months. Visitors can climb to the top for breathtaking views of Lake Michigan. The surrounding beach is also a popular spot for picnicking and swimming. 

Jomagrha Vineyards & Winery

Wine enthusiasts will appreciate a visit to Jomagrha Vineyards & Winery, a family-owned establishment located near Pentwater and private boat slip rentals. The winery offers tastings of their locally produced wines, allowing guests to savor the flavors of French, French/American hybrid, Bordeaux and Burgundy varieties. 

Pentwater Historical Society Museum

For those interested in diving into the area's past, the Pentwater Historical Society Museum provides a comprehensive look at the village's history through a variety of exhibits and artifacts. Located in a former church, it's an excellent spot to learn about Pentwater's evolution from a lumber town to the charming lakeside community it is today.
