Cape Henry Lighthouse

One of Virginia's most prominent lighthouses, the Cape Henry Lighthouse, is located at the entrance to the Chesapeake Bay. Built in 1792, it is the first federally funded lighthouse in the United States. It was later replaced by a new cast iron lighthouse in 1881, which is still used today. Assateague Lighthouse

Assateague Lighthouse, located on the barrier island of Assateague near Chincoteague, was built in 1867. This elegant structure has weathered storms and witnessed the changing tides of history. Old Point Comfort Lighthouse

Originally constructed in 1802, it has undergone several upgrades, including the installation of a fourth-order Fresnel lens in the mid-19th century.
The transition from oil lamps to electric lights in the early 20th century marked a significant leap forward in ensuring the safety of mariners navigating Virginia's waters. The current lighthouse, built in 1802, is the third oldest still-standing lighthouse in the United States.
Cape Charles Lighthouse
