Dock and Dine: Jacksonville, Florida Restaurants to Visit by Boat
Surrounded by the ICW, the St. Johns River and the Atlantic Ocean, Jacksonville is made for the boating life. The northeast Florida destination is located between Amelia Island and St. Augustine. It provides access to beaches, natural attractions, wildlife sanctuaries, state parks and a variety of waterfront restaurants to get to from private boat dock rentals. Let’s check out some of them in today’s installment of our dock and dine series.

A popular game day destination for Jaguar fans, the tropical themed Hurricane Grill & Wings sits along the St. Johns River on Julington Creek. It’s within easy access to boat slips for rent. The menu offers tacos, wings, fish and chips, salads, sandwiches, all-natural chicken and premium angus beef. It’s free to dock at Julington Creek Marina (just follow the walkway to the restaurant). They can even deliver right to the boat, making for friendly social distance service.
Julington Creek Fish Camp

Julington Creek Fish Camp is located near Hurricane Grill & Wings. It’s open for lunch and dinner and features a selection of grilled salmon, buttermilk pan-fried chicken, Baja-style fish tacos and seared tuna as well as an extensive wine, beer and cocktail menu. You can dock your boat at nearby Julington Creek Marina (pier 3). Stop by after a day on the water and before docking at a private boat slip rental.
Safe Harbor Seafood

Safe Harbor Seafood offers stunning views and the seafood to go with it. Watch the boats unload the catch of the day before the kitchen cooks it. Choose from items such as tacos, po’ boys, soups, baskets, bowls and more. The market has fresh seafood to take back to the private boat slip rental. They can also prepare it for you. There’s a small dock that’s available for first come / first serve service.
Palms Fish Camp

Located on the St. Johns River and Clapboard Creek (or Heckscher Drive, if by car), Palms Fish Camp has been named a top pick among Jacksonville’s dock and dine destinations. Wraparound decks and outdoor dining make the perfect place to watch the sunset and enjoy fresh Florida seafood, brick oven pizza, tacos and Low Country seafood boils. Don’t miss the key lime pie, baklava and bread pudding.
Whether you’re hanging out at a boat lift for rent, cruising the Great Loop or just passing through, we hope you’ve found some new restaurants to try the next time you’re in Jacksonville.
