Dock and Dine: Six Ocean City, Maryland Restaurants to Visit by Boat

If you’re in Ocean City, Maryland and feeling snack-ish (or downright hangry), skip the crowded roadways and take to the waterways (water is way more fun than pavement anyway). There are a wide variety of boat-friendly venues along the sandy shores of OC that you can get to from a boat slip for rent. Let’s take a look.

Family-owned and operated for more than 80 years, the Angler Restaurant is located at 312 Talbot Street on the bay (just across Ocean Causeway Route 50 bridge). It serves Maryland-style crab cakes, seafood, burgers, flat-iron steak and even breakfast options. Enjoy live music or check out the adjacent marina for watersports and charter fishing trips.

For waterfront dining and sunset views, you can’t beat Fager’s Island. Easily accessible from a boat dock for rent, you’ll find it at 201 60th street where you can choose indoor, bayfront or deckside seating. The menu offers American and Pacific Rim cuisine as well as a raw bar, drink specials, local craft beer and seasonal deck parties. There’s also a pretty cool kids’ menu.

Looking for a dog-friendly spot to visit from a boat lift rental? Fish Tales, located in Bahia Marina on 22nd street, is the answer. You can sip orange crushes and rum runners while watching the charter boats bring in the haul and clean the daily catch. Choose from menu items such as steamed clams, conch fritters, fried shrimp baskets, seared ahi tacos and seafood platters. Special events include Triple Crown parties, Christmas in July, fishing tournaments and DELMARVA (Delaware/Maryland/Virginia) Bike Week in September.

Macky’s Bayside Bar and Grill, located bayside on 54th street, is famous for the sunset views and pet-friendly outdoor dining (there’s even a doggie menu). Dine indoors or outdoors beneath palm trees with menu choices such as BBQ ribs, jerk chicken, crab pizza and New York strip. Spend a fun evening with themed events such as trivia nights and beach bashes before sailing back to a private boat slip for rent.

Located at Harbour Island Marina (419 14th street on the bayside), you can get your fill of burgers, crab soup and other seafood selections while enjoying live entertainment on the dock. Choose from flavored crushes, martinis, mudslides and mojitos.

Seacrets brings the tropical vibes and Caribbean cocktails of Jamaica to Isle of Wight Bay. Located at 117 49th street, there are several outdoor bar areas, live music stages and even a distillery with a Speakeasy tasting room (nearby at 111 49th street). The menu features seafood, pizza, salads, baby back ribs and all sorts of sandwiches and wraps. Save room for key lime pie and spiced rum cake. Seacrets consistently wins best of awards for drinks and live music. We just think it’s a great spot to visit from private boat lifts for rent.

Hopefully you’ve found a few new dock and dine restaurants to add to your list. The next time you’re hanging out at a boat dock for rent in Ocean City, give one of them a visit. Let us know what you like best!
