The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show 2019 doesn’t just allow people the chance to observe the latest, coolest (super)yachts on the market. It will also offer a variety of classes and seminars, including:
- Basic and advanced docking skills;
- Anchoring and rafting techniques for different types of boats;
- Open-water vessel handling skills; and
- Powerboating skills.
These classes and seminars will give you the chance to learn about the latest boating techniques and concepts. In turn, this will empower you to feel safer and more confident when out on the water (especially for newcomers). Furthermore, the classes and seminars provide opportunity for boating enthusiasts and professionals to connect with some of the most important people in the industry.
And the great thing about the classes and seminars is that they come at no additional cost! So long as you pay the entrance fee, you are welcome to attend as many classes and seminars as you like. Check the schedule to attend any or all the ones you like.
Exhibitors
Approximately 1,000 exhibitors will be at the boat show over the course of the 5 days. The exhibitors are made up of admired shipyard personnel and prestigious brokerage firms, such as Abeking & Rasmussen, Benetti and Feadship, among many others.
These vendors will be happy to divulge Boaters with nuggets of information on the latest trends in the industry. In addition, they will have useful information for boating enthusiasts and potential clients to increase their joy on the water.
Supplementary Presentations, Events & Dining Experiences
The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show 2019 will be so much more than just a boat show for Boaters to enjoy.
Presentations & Events
Lecturers from noteworthy Floridian universities will give presentations on the coral reefs in southern Florida. They will provide interested participants with the latest research and developments in conserving the seabed and all that lives under the sea.
Similarly, at the Broward County Convention Center, Boaters can experience the Blue Wild Ocean Expo. There, they can listen to experts and celebrities discuss topics, including freediving, underwater photography, spearfishing and lobstering. And while you are there, take a look at the Marine Art Display as it will feature a gorgeous collation of artwork and photography.
Furthermore, on the Saturday and Sunday, the boat show will host the Kid’s Fishing Clinic, called Hook The Future. This event is only for children (ages 4 – 16) and is designed to give them knowledge on how to fish in an entertaining manner.
Dining
Superyacht Village will host the 2nd Annual Sunset Soiree & Yacht Chef Competition. In the center of the village, Boaters will be able to taste a variety of delicious cuisines and cocktails.
In addition, try out Angler’s Lounge. With a menu of seafood, salads, sliders, desserts, beverages and more, there is something for everyone to enjoy. (But pre-book as Angler’s Lounge is very popular. After-all, who wouldn’t want to wine and dine in a luxury suite that has a bird’s-eye view of the boat show?)
How PierShare Can Help You
One of the great challenges for Boaters during the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show 2019 will be the same issue that persists every year - dockage. In the days and weeks leading up to the boat show, the marinas and piers that host the show will ask Boaters currently occupying their spaces to clear out to make room for the superyachts that will be on display.
This will have a domino effect on the other marinas in the local area. Their slips will be quickly booked up (if they are not already). Plus, they can charge more for their slips, knowing that there is high demand for docks in Fort Lauderdale around the time of the show.
PierShare provides an alternative for Boaters looking to rent a dock in Fort Lauderdale. We have many dock spaces in various parts of Fort Lauderdale, built for vessels of different shapes and sizes. Moreover, you can decide if you want to rent a dock with us on a transient, day-to-day basis or for a longer term. Any transient docking can be extended to a longer-term arrangement after you begin your docking too.
So, feel free to try out one of our docks on a transient basis and maybe you’ll never end up leaving. But most importantly, we are the only provider of cost-effective dockage solutions during boat shows as our spaces are consistently less expensive than the nearby marinas.
